Built around a sandwich double-antibody immunoassay, this Assay Genie ELISA targets the heparin-binding EGF-like growth factor (HB-EGF) in rat-derived specimens, supporting research into wound healing, tumor progression, smooth muscle biology, and EGF-family signaling. Each kit is configured for 96 individual determinations and is supplied with pre-coated wells, lyophilized reference standards, biotinylated detection antibody, HRP-streptavidin conjugate, TMB substrate, and the buffers required to complete the full plate.

The protocol is designed to be completed in roughly 4 hours excluding equilibration and sample prep: standards and samples are incubated on the plate, followed by biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP, and TMB color development, with absorbance read on a standard microplate reader. Validated performance includes linearity of 82 to 105 percent across serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma, with recoveries of 87 to 104 percent. The assay shows specificity for HB-EGF with no obvious cross-reactivity against related analogues in the panel tested.

Reagent volumes are sized for 96 wells and supplied in formats suited to routine rodent-model work: serum (50 uL sample), plasma (50 uL), cell culture supernatant (100 uL), and cell or tissue lysate (100 uL). Compatible sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernatants, and other biological fluids. Unopened kit components should be stored at 2-8 degrees C with a 12 month shelf life, and standards aliquots may be kept at -20 degrees C for longer-term use. For research use only.
