Rat Hemojuvelin (HJV) ELISA Kit

Hemojuvelin (HJV), also termed HFE2 or RGMc, is a GPI-anchored bone morphogenetic protein co-receptor that is most abundant in liver, skeletal muscle, and cardiac tissue. It regulates systemic iron homeostasis by amplifying BMP-SMAD signaling in hepatocytes, which in turn drives hepcidin (HAMP) transcription. Loss-of-function mutations in HJV cause juvenile hemochromatosis type 2A, a severe iron-overload disorder that typically manifests before age 30. Researchers apply this Assay Genie kit to quantify circulating HJV in rat models of iron metabolism disorders, anemia of chronic disease, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, and beta-thalassemia.

The reagent provides a quantitative immunoassay with standard curve-based interpolation.
