Rat HBEGF/HB-EGF ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative detection of Rat HB-EGF (Heparin-binding EGF-like growth factor) in biological samples. The double-antibody assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid sample types.

Reported sensitivity is 9.375 pg/mL with a working range of 15.625–1000 pg/mL. Linearity was tested in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma (n=5) at 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions. Recovery ranges were 87–103% for serum, 88–104% for EDTA plasma, and 88–100% for heparin plasma, with average recoveries of 98%, 93%, and 97% respectively. Unopened kits are stored at 2–8°C and remain stable for 12 months.

The protocol proceeds through primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotinylated detection antibody binding at 37°C for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin binding at 37°C for 30 minutes, TMB substrate incubation in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and absorbance measurement at 450 nm after stop solution addition. HB-EGF is a key growth factor involved in cell growth, differentiation, and migration, and its dysregulation has been associated with cancer, cardiovascular disorders, and inflammatory conditions.
