Rat GSTA1/Glutathione S Transferase Alpha 1 ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie enables the quantitative measurement of rat GSTA1 (Glutathione S-Transferase Alpha 1) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, cell or tissue lysates, and other liquid samples, using a double-antibody format with colorimetric detection. The assay delivers a sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL across a working range of 0.313-20 ng/mL and is stored at 2-8°C for up to 12 months. The kit targets UniProt entry P00502 and is suited to studying GSTA1, a vital enzyme involved in detoxification that protects cells from oxidative damage, with its dysregulation linked to cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and liver diseases.

The procedure begins by equilibrating reagents and TMB substrate to room temperature, then loading standards, samples and blanks onto the pre-coated plate and incubating at 37°C for 90 minutes. A biotin-labeled detection antibody is added and incubated at 37°C for 60 minutes, followed by HRP-Streptavidin (SABC) for 30 minutes. After addition of TMB substrate and incubation in the dark for 10-20 minutes, the reaction is stopped and absorbance measured at 450 nm.

Linearity in serum (n=5) at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions is 88-104%, 86-105% and 85-104% respectively; EDTA plasma 82-101%, 86-100% and 82-95%; heparin plasma 84-99%, 80-89% and 80-95%. Recovery averages 99% for serum (range 90-105%), 97% for EDTA plasma (range 91-104%) and 92% for heparin plasma (range 86-96%).
