Description

Assay Genie offers a colorimetric Sandwich ELISA kit for the quantitative measurement of rat GRINA (Glutamate Receptor Interacting Protein 1), a protein that interacts with glutamate receptors and plays a role in synaptic transmission and plasticity. The assay is validated for use with rat serum, plasma, and tissue homogenates and is intended for research applications exploring neurological conditions such as epilepsy and Alzheimer's disease, where GRINA dysregulation has been implicated.

The kit employs a double-antibody sandwich format with a reported sensitivity of 46.875 pg/ml and a working range of 78.125–5000 pg/ml. Spike-and-recovery performance in serum averaged 97% (range 92–102%), in EDTA plasma 91% (range 85–101%), and in UFH plasma 93% (range 85–104%). Linearity across serial dilutions (1:2, 1:4, 1:8) was 85–105% in serum, 82–101% in EDTA plasma, and 80–98% in UFH plasma. Intra-assay CV is reported as <8% and inter-assay CV as <10%.

For Research Use Only, the kit is stored at 4°C for 6 months. The associated protein, protein lifeguard 1 (UniProt Q6P6R0, molecular weight 38,594 Da), is also referenced by the aliases Lfg1, Nmdara1, and Glutamate [NMDA] receptor-associated protein 1, and is described as a potential apoptotic regulator and a subunit of the N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor.
