Rat GPX1/Glutathione Peroxidase 1 ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA, Double Antibody assay kit is designed for the quantitative detection of Glutathione Peroxidase 1 (GPX1) in rat samples. GPX1 is an important antioxidant enzyme that protects cells from oxidative damage by reducing hydrogen peroxide and lipid hydroperoxides, and its dysregulation has been associated with cancer, cardiovascular disorders, and neurodegenerative conditions.

The kit employs a colorimetric detection method with absorbance read at 450 nm. It is validated for use with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 18.75 pg/mL and a standard curve range of 31.25-2000 pg/mL. Reagents are stored at 2-8°C for 12 months.

Recovery testing showed serum samples (n=5) within 85-105% (average 99%), EDTA plasma (n=5) within 92-105% (average 97%), and heparin plasma (n=5) within 89-98% (average 93%). Linearity in serum ranged from 92-104% at a 1:2 dilution to 85-104% at 1:8. The assay workflow involves reagent equilibration, sample loading with primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotin-labeled detection antibody incubation for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin binding for 30 minutes, TMB substrate development in the dark for 10-20 minutes, and stop solution addition before reading absorbance at 450 nm.
