Measuring endogenous gonadotropin-releasing hormone in rat specimens, the Assay Genie quantitative immunoassay kit supports reproductive biology, neuroendocrinology, and circadian rhythm research. GnRH is a ten-amino-acid hypothalamic neuropeptide that drives the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis by stimulating pituitary secretion of LH and FSH, so its quantification is central to studies of puberty onset, estrous cyclicity, seasonal breeding regulation, stress-induced reproductive suppression, and age-related decline in gonadal function.

Investigators also apply the assay to evaluate endocrine-disrupting compounds, photoperiod manipulation, hypothalamic explant release work, and primary hypothalamic neuron cultures where GnRH secretion into medium is tracked across pharmacological or circadian challenges.

Each kit is configured for 96 determinations and supplies a pre-coated microplate, biotinylated detection antibody, lyophilized standards, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, concentrated wash buffer, TMB substrate, and stop reagent. Stained wells are read on a standard plate reader and values are interpolated against a standard curve. The format accepts blood-derived fractions, hypothalamic and pituitary tissue homogenates, cultured cell preparations, and conditioned medium from primary hypothalamic neurons.

Unopened components are stored refrigerated; reconstituted standards and certain conjugates are best kept frozen at -20 °C in working aliquots to preserve activity through multiple freeze-thaw cycles. For research use only.
