Rat Glycoprotein 2, Zymogen Granule Membrane (GP2) ELISA Kit

GP2 (Glycoprotein 2, Zymogen Granule Membrane) is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored protein on the apical surface of pancreatic acinar cells, trafficked within zymogen granules and released during exocytosis. The same molecule is expressed on follicle-associated epithelium M cells of Peyer's patches, where it acts as a transcytosis receptor for FimH-bearing commensal and pathogenic bacteria such as E. coli and Salmonella. Investigators apply the Assay Genie rat GP2 immunoassay kit to measure glycoprotein 2 levels in rat serum samples, plasma fractions, and tissue homogenates from pancreas or gut. The reagent package contains a pre-coated assay plate, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, recombinant GP2 standard, diluents, wash concentrate, chromogenic substrate, and stop reagent in sufficient quantity for 96 determinations. The assay is performed on a standard immunoplate reader, with absorbance proportional to bound rat GP2. Unopened kit components should be stored refrigerated; reconstituted standards and diluted specimens are best kept at low temperature, protected from light, and not subjected to repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
