Rat Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (Gapdh) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie provides a Sandwich ELISA kit for the quantitative measurement of rat Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (Gapdh). The assay is reactive with rat and validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. Detection range is 0.156-10ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.065ng/mL, and the kit recognises natural and recombinant rat Gapdh. It is intended for research use only.

GAPDH catalyses the first step of glycolysis, converting D-glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate (G3P) into 3-phospho-D-glyceroyl phosphate, and additionally functions as a peptidyl-cysteine S-nitrosylase that mediates S-nitrosylation of nuclear targets including SIRT1, HDAC2 and PRKDC. The protein is a widely used housekeeping gene in gene-expression studies, and its dysregulation has been implicated in metabolic disorders, neurodegenerative disease and cancer. Subcellular localisation spans the cytoplasm, cytosol, cytoskeleton and nucleus, with nuclear translocation following S-nitrosylation and interaction with SIAH1.
