Rat Glutamate Decarboxylase 2, Acid (GAD2) ELISA Kit

The Rat GAD2 ELISA Kit from Assay Genie quantitatively measures Glutamate Decarboxylase 2 (GAD65), the 65 kDa membrane-anchored decarboxylase that synthesizes the inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA from L-glutamate. Because GAD65 localizes predominantly to presynaptic terminals in GABAergic neurons, this in vitro immunoassay supports neuroscience research into inhibitory circuit function, seizure susceptibility, anxiety-related behavior, and stress responses in rat models. The kit is also useful for studies of pancreatic islet biology, since GAD65 is a major autoantigen in type 1 diabetes and related rodent models.
