Rat GLP-1 ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie provides quantitative measurement of glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) in rat-derived serum, plasma and tissue homogenates. The assay uses a double-antibody detection format and is intended for research applications in endocrinology, metabolism and pharmacology, where GLP-1 is studied for its role in glucose homeostasis, insulin secretion and food intake.

The kit has a stated sensitivity of 9.375 pg/ml and a measuring range of 15.625–1000 pg/ml. Reported precision is an intra-assay CV <8% and an inter-assay CV <10%. Spike-and-recovery values were 89–104% (average 93%) for serum, 88–105% (average 99%) for EDTA plasma, and 86–102% (average 95%) for UFH plasma. Serial-dilution linearity for serum spanned 91–103% at 1:2, 88–104% at 1:4 and 89–100% at 1:8; EDTA plasma spanned 82–101%, 88–101% and 83–95% across the same dilutions; and UFH plasma spanned 87–100%, 87–100% and 85–100%.

The kit is supplied for storage at 4°C for 6 months and is labelled For Research Use Only. Sample preparation guidance covers serum (clot 30 minutes at room temperature, then centrifuge 10 minutes at 1,000 × g), plasma collected with EDTA or heparin as anti-coagulant (centrifuge at 4°C for 15 minutes at 1000 × g within 30 minutes of collection), and a note that over-haemolysed samples are not suitable for use with this kit.
