Description

A high-quality sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the accurate measurement of GFRA1 (GDNF Receptor Alpha-1) levels in rat samples. GFRA1 is a key receptor involved in the binding and signaling of glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF), a protein that plays a critical role in the development and maintenance of the nervous system. Dysregulation of GFRA1-GDNF signaling has been implicated in various neurological disorders, making this kit an essential tool for studying these conditions and potentially identifying therapeutic targets.

The kit uses a double-antibody sandwich ELISA format with colorimetric detection and is suitable for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Reported sensitivity is 46.875 pg/mL, with an assay range of 78.125–5000 pg/mL. Reported recovery averages are 95% for serum, 92% for EDTA plasma, and 91% for heparin plasma. Storage is 2–8°C for 12 months.

The protocol involves equilibrating reagents and TMB substrate to room temperature, loading standards, samples and blanks onto the pre-coated plate, then incubating at 37°C for 90 minutes. A biotin-labelled detection antibody is then added for 60 minutes at 37°C, followed by HRP-Streptavidin (SABC) for 30 minutes. TMB substrate is added and incubated in the dark for 10–20 minutes before the reaction is stopped and absorbance is read at 450 nm.
