Rat GFAP ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the accurate quantification of Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein (GFAP) in rat samples, using a double-antibody configuration and a colorimetric readout. GFAP is an intermediate filament protein expressed in astrocytes, where it contributes to the structural integrity of the central nervous system. Abnormal expression of GFAP has been associated with neurological disorders including Alzheimer's disease, multiple sclerosis, and traumatic brain injury, making quantitative measurement valuable for studies of astrocyte biology and disease pathophysiology.

The assay has a reported sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL and a working range of 0.313–20 ng/mL. Validated sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Reported recovery averages range from 91% (serum) to 92% (EDTA plasma and heparin plasma), and linearity has been reported between 80% and 103% across 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma. The kit is intended for storage at 2–8°C for up to 12 months.
