GKN1 (Gastrokine 1), also referred to as AMP-18 and foveolin, is a stomach-restricted secreted glycoprotein that supports gastric mucosal homeostasis and is frequently downregulated in gastric adenocarcinoma. This quantitative immunoassay from Assay Genie provides researchers with a tool to measure endogenous rat GKN1 protein across serum samples, plasma fractions, and tissue homogenate preparations, using a colorimetric microplate read-out.

Each kit is supplied with a pre-coated microplate, lyophilised standards, biotinylated detection reagent, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, wash buffer, substrate solution, and stop reagent sufficient for one full-plate run. The protocol follows an in vitro capture-and-detection workflow compatible with cell culture supernatant, primary gastric tissue lysate, and rat-derived body fluid samples. Researchers studying peptic ulcer disease, Helicobacter pylori-associated pathology, intestinal metaplasia, and gastric cancer biomarker panels apply this kit to quantify GKN1 dynamics in rat disease models.

Reagents are stored refrigerated and protected from light between uses; reconstituted standards should be aliquoted and frozen to limit freeze-thaw cycles. The assay is supplied as a complete kit in a single-use box format and is intended for research use only applications in academic and pharmaceutical laboratories.
