Rat Gastrin (Gast) ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of gastrin in rat samples and is intended for research use only. The assay accepts serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with specificity for natural and recombinant rat gastrin.

Detection is colorimetric, with a reported detection range of 3.12-200 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 1.71 pg/mL. Intra-assay precision is 4.1% CV and inter-assay precision is 7.8% CV. Recovery averages 96% (range 90-102%) for serum and 98% (range 92-104%) for plasma. Gastrin is a secreted hormone that stimulates the stomach mucosa to produce and secrete hydrochloric acid and the pancreas to secrete its digestive enzymes, and it also stimulates smooth muscle contraction and increases blood circulation and water secretion in the stomach and intestine.
