Rat Galectin 8/GAL8 ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA using a double-antibody format from Assay Genie, designed for the detection of Galectin-8 (GAL8) in rat samples.

Validated sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, with a colorimetric detection method. The protocol uses a pre-coated plate: standards, samples and controls are incubated at 37°C for 90 minutes, followed by a biotin-labelled detection antibody (60 minutes), HRP-streptavidin binding (30 minutes), and TMB colour development in the dark for 10–20 minutes, with absorbance read at 450 nm.

Galectin-8 is a member of the galectin family of proteins implicated in cell adhesion, migration, and apoptosis, and is noted as a biomarker relevant to immune responses, inflammation, and tumour progression, supporting research applications in immunology, cancer research, and inflammatory diseases.
