Rat Galectin 4 (GAL4) ELISA Kit

Galectin-4 (LGALS4), a tandem-repeat beta-galactoside-binding lectin predominantly expressed by intestinal epithelial cells, contributes to lipid raft stabilization on enterocyte microvilli, intercellular adhesion at the apical brush border, and mucosal immune signaling. Quantitation of endogenous Galectin-4 in rat specimens is supported by the 96-assay colorimetric kit from Assay Genie, configured for in vitro work with serum-based matrices, plasma-type materials, gastrointestinal tissue homogenates, epithelial cell lysates, and clarified cell culture supernatant.

Each box provides components sufficient to run one full microplate with paired antibody reagents producing a measurable absorbance signal proportional to Galectin-4 in the well. Standard ELISA workflows with standard-curve-based absolute quantitation and relative expression comparisons across treatment cohorts are supported. Typical applications include longitudinal tracking in colitis induction protocols, mucosal injury and repair studies, colorectal and gastric cancer research, and barrier-function pharmacology screens in rat pre-clinical models.

Refrigerated storage is recommended for kit components. Investigators profile Gal-4 across gastrointestinal biopsy homogenates, isolated enterocyte preparations, and luminal wash samples using this format. For clean quantitation of murine or human Galectin-4, species-matched kits are suggested.
