Rat Galectin 3 (GAL3) ELISA Kit

This Assay Genie kit enables quantitative measurement of endogenous galectin-3, a 26 kDa β-galactoside-binding lectin implicated in cell-cell adhesion, macrophage activation, and extracellular matrix remodeling. Galectin-3 is widely investigated as a biomarker of cardiac stress, renal injury, hepatic fibrosis, and tumor progression, making this kit useful in cardiovascular, oncology, immunology, and toxicology research workflows.

The assay uses pre-coated wells and matched antibody pairs to capture rat galectin-3 from serum specimens, plasma samples, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, and conditioned media, with 100 µL of sample loaded per well. Researchers running inflammation models, myocardial infarction studies, or fibrotic disease investigations can rely on the protocol's straightforward wash-and-incubate steps to generate standard curves in roughly three to four hours of hands-on time.

Each package contains a microplate sized for 96 determinations, lyophilized standards, detection antibody, assay diluents, TMB substrate solution, and stop reagent sufficient for the full plate. Reconstituted reagents should be aliquoted and stored frozen at -20°C for repeated use, while the unopened kit is refrigerated at 4°C and protected from light. Stop solution contains acid and should be handled with appropriate laboratory PPE.
