The Assay Genie Rat GAL4 (Galectin 4) CLIA Kit employs a chemiluminescence-based sandwich immunoassay for quantitative detection of galectin-4 in rat serum, plasma, and other biological fluids. Galectin-4 is a tandem-repeat type β-galactoside-binding lectin expressed predominantly in intestinal epithelial cells, where it contributes to lipid raft stabilization, mucosal immunity, and epithelial cell adhesion. Altered circulating galectin-4 levels have been reported in inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal carcinoma, and gastrointestinal injury models, making this assay useful for translational research in GI inflammation and oncology studies.

Supplied in a 96-well microplate format, the kit contains pre-coated plates, lyophilized standards, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, and chemiluminescent substrate reagents sufficient for 96 assays.
