Description

Designed for the precise measurement of fibroblast growth factor 7 (FGF7), also known as Keratinocyte Growth Factor (KGF), this sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is intended for rat serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. FGF7 is described as a key growth factor involved in cell growth, proliferation and tissue repair, and in biological processes including wound healing, tissue regeneration, and the development of epithelial tissues, with dysregulation linked to skin disorders and cancers.

The assay uses a colorimetric, double-antibody sandwich format with a sensitivity of 9.375 pg/mL and a standard range of 15.625–1000 pg/mL. Kits should be stored at 2–8°C for 12 months. Linearity across 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions was 86–105%, 88–100% and 80–98% for serum; 87–103%, 83–97% and 82–90% for EDTA plasma; and 85–98%, 83–90% and 81–97% for heparin plasma (n=5 each). Spike-and-recovery ranges and averages were 86–105% (95% average) for serum, 85–100% (92% average) for EDTA plasma, and 85–102% (93% average) for heparin plasma.

The protocol proceeds through reagent and plate preparation, a 37°C primary incubation for 90 minutes, biotin-labelled detection antibody binding for 60 minutes at 37°C, HRP-streptavidin (SABC) binding for 30 minutes at 37°C, TMB colour development in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and a stop reaction read at 450 nm. Sample preparation guidance is provided for serum, plasma, tissue homogenate, cell culture supernatant and cell lysate, with additional support available from the manufacturer's technical team.
