Rat FGF21 ELISA Kit

Assay Genie provides a sandwich ELISA, double-antibody tool designed for the quantitative measurement of fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21) in rat samples. The kit is validated for use with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, supporting a broad range of metabolic and biomarker research workflows. FGF21 is described as a key metabolic regulator involved in energy balance, glucose homeostasis and lipid metabolism, with dysregulation linked to obesity, diabetes and fatty liver disease.

The assay reports a sensitivity of 18.75 pg/mL and a working range of 31.25-2000 pg/mL. Linearity has been characterised for serum (85-95% / 82-101% / 80-100%), EDTA plasma (97-103% / 82-100% / 88-100%) and heparin plasma (86-99% / 91-100% / 90-99%) at dilution ratios of 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8. Recovery ranges are 87-101% (serum, average 95%), 89-105% (EDTA plasma, average 97%) and 86-101% (heparin plasma, average 90%). The protocol follows a standard sandwich workflow: reagent and plate preparation, primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotin-labelled detection antibody incubation at 37°C for 60 minutes, HRP-streptavidin binding at 37°C for 30 minutes, TMB colour development in the dark for 10-20 minutes, and absorbance reading at 450 nm after stop solution addition. The kit should be stored at 2-8°C for 12 months.
