Quantitative immunoassay from Assay Genie that measures Fibrinogen beta chain (Fgb) polypeptide in rat specimens, supporting research into coagulation cascade activity, hepatic protein synthesis, acute-phase response, and cardiovascular disease models. The kit provides reagents for 96 individual determinations and is configured for in vitro research use only, not for diagnostic procedures.

Fibrinogen beta chain is one of three pairs of polypeptide subunits assembled into the circulating fibrinogen hexamer, a soluble plasma glycoprotein essential for thrombin-mediated fibrin formation. Quantifying Bβ-chain levels by ELISA complements clot-based functional assays and helps distinguish hepatic synthesis capacity from consumption during disseminated intravascular coagulation or systemic inflammation studies in rodent models.

Each kit contains a pre-coated microplate, lyophilized recombinant rat Fgb reference standards, biotinylated detection reagent, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, wash buffer concentrate, substrate solution, and stop reagent. Standard curves are generated from serially diluted calibrators to interpolate unknown specimen concentrations. Reagents require refrigerated storage between assays to preserve enzymatic activity of the conjugate, and the assay plate should be equilibrated to room temperature before initiating the protocol.

Researchers working on thrombosis, stroke models, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, or toxicology screening in rats will find this Fgb-specific assay useful for tracking circulating fibrinogen precursor pools across treatment groups, time points, or genetic backgrounds.
