Rat Ferritin ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA (Double Antibody) kit is intended for the quantitative measurement of ferritin in rat samples, including serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The assay uses a pre-coated microplate, a biotinylated detection antibody, HRP-conjugated Streptavidin, and TMB substrate, with absorbance read at 450 nm.

The reported sensitivity is 1.875 pg/mL and the assay range is 3.125-200 pg/mL. Manufacturer validation reports linearity at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions of 85-103%, 95-105% and 86-104% for serum; 82-96%, 83-99% and 89-99% for EDTA plasma; and 81-98%, 83-93% and 81-100% for heparin plasma. Recovery ranges and averages are 86-96% (92%) for serum, 91-104% (97%) for EDTA plasma and 91-102% (94%) for heparin plasma. Storage is at 2-8°C for 12 months.

The procedure involves equilibrating reagents to room temperature, loading standards and samples and incubating at 37°C for 90 minutes, adding the biotin-labeled detection antibody with a 60-minute incubation, adding HRP-Streptavidin for 30 minutes, developing with TMB substrate for 10-20 minutes in the dark, and reading absorbance at 450 nm after stop solution is added. The kit also includes a Bradford Reagent for total protein quantification to support sample normalisation.
