This immunoassay from Assay Genie enables quantitative measurement of Fas Ligand (FasL, also called CD178 or TNFSF6) in rat specimens. FasL is a type II transmembrane protein belonging to the tumor necrosis factor superfamily that initiates the extrinsic apoptosis cascade by engaging its receptor Fas (CD95). The Rat Factor Related Apoptosis Ligand (FASL) ELISA Kit supports research into programmed cell death, T-cell-mediated cytotoxicity, immune privilege, and inflammatory disease models where FasL signaling contributes to pathology.

Used with rat samples, the assay accommodates tissue homogenates and fluid specimens commonly collected in preclinical rat studies, including serum fractions and plasma fractions. The 96-assay plate format provides sufficient throughput for cohort-scale experiments, time-course studies, or comparison of treated versus control groups in pharmacological and toxicological research. Reagents should be kept refrigerated to preserve antibody binding activity and standard stability.

Typical applications include quantification of FasL release in models of drug-induced hepatotoxicity, investigation of cytotoxic lymphocyte activity, evaluation of graft-versus-host and transplant rejection responses, and assessment of neuroinflammatory or autoimmune mechanisms. Researchers studying ischemia-reperfusion injury, alcoholic or chemical liver damage, and tumor microenvironments in rats also use this kit to track FasL dynamics across disease progression or therapeutic intervention.

The kit is supplied with reagents sufficient for 96 individual determinations and is intended for research use only in laboratory settings.
