Rat Factor H/Complement factor H ELISA Kit

Assay Genie supplies a Sandwich ELISA (double antibody) kit designed for the quantitative measurement of complement factor H in rat samples. The assay is read colorimetrically and is intended to deliver sensitive and reproducible results for research into complement regulation, immune response and inflammation, in which dysregulation of complement factor H has been implicated in autoimmune and inflammatory conditions.

Reported performance includes a sensitivity of 9.375 ng/mL and an assay range of 15.625–1000 ng/mL. Validated sample types are serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Linearity in serum (n=5) is 88–101% at 1:2, 86–100% at 1:4 and 86–97% at 1:8; EDTA plasma (n=5) gives 82–100%, 94–102% and 82–91%; heparin plasma (n=5) gives 82–98%, 82–95% and 90–96%. Recovery ranges and averages are 85–105% (99) for serum, 86–102% (98) for EDTA plasma and 86–101% (92) for heparin plasma.

The procedure uses a pre-coated plate with incubations at 37 °C — 90 minutes for antigen binding, 60 minutes with biotinylated detection antibody, and 30 minutes with HRP-streptavidin — followed by TMB development in the dark for 10–20 minutes and absorbance measurement at 450 nm. Kit components are stored at 2–8 °C for 12 months, with the dismountable microplate strips and lyophilised standard additionally suitable for 12 months at –20 °C.
