Quantitative detection of rat Extracellular Signal-Regulated Kinase 1 (ERK1, also called MAPK3) is delivered by this 96-assay microplate kit from Assay Genie. ERK1 is a 44 kDa serine/threonine kinase that operates within the conserved Ras-Raf-MEK-ERK signal transduction cascade, translating extracellular cues such as growth factors, cytokines, and stress signals into changes in proliferation, differentiation, migration, and survival.

This research-use-only ELISA serves investigations in neuroscience, oncology, toxicology, and metabolic disease, where dysregulated MAPK pathway activity is a frequent observation. The kit accepts diverse specimen matrices, including tissue-derived lysates, cultured-cell preparations, conditioned culture medium, and clarified specimens, supporting both in vivo and in vitro experimental designs. Each kit contains reagents sufficient for 96 individual determinations, and the absorbance-based read-out is captured on a standard microplate reader.

Typical laboratory workflow involves adding reference standards and unknowns to the pre-coated plate, performing a sequence of incubations and washes, adding the substrate, and measuring absorbance to interpolate ERK1 concentrations from a standard curve. The kit is intended for research use only and is not validated for diagnostic or clinical applications.
