Rat Excitatory Amino Acid Transporter 2 (EAAT2) ELISA Kit

EAAT2, also termed GLT-1 or SLC1A2, is the dominant astroglial glutamate transporter and accounts for the majority of synaptic glutamate clearance in the mammalian central nervous system. This rat-specific immunoassay from Assay Genie enables quantitative measurement of EAAT2 protein in tissue homogenates and cell lysates, supporting neuroscience research into excitotoxicity, ischemic injury, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and neurodegenerative disease models.

The kit provides reagents sufficient for 96 individual determinations in a microplate format intended for in vitro research use only. Components should be stored refrigerated upon arrival to preserve antibody activity, and each microplate well is pre-coated with capture antibody specific for the rat EAAT2 extracellular epitope. Reconstituted standards and diluted samples are added for binding, followed by a biotinylated detection antibody and streptavidin-HRP conjugate to generate an absorbance-based readout at the assay endpoint.
