Description

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of rat Eif2ak3 (Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2-alpha kinase 3), also known by the aliases PERK, PRKR-like endoplasmic reticulum kinase, and pancreatic eIF2-alpha kinase. The assay uses a double-antibody sandwich format with colorimetric readout and is intended for the detection of EIF2AK3 in rat serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants.

Reported performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 28.125 pg/ml and a working range of 46.875–3000 pg/ml. Precision values are stated as intra-assay CV <8% and inter-assay CV <10%. In spike-and-recovery testing, average recovery was 94% (range 86–104%) in serum, 97% (range 87–105%) in EDTA plasma, and 99% (range 88–104%) in UFH plasma. Linearity across serial dilutions of 1:2 to 1:8 ranged from 85–104% in serum, 82–98% in EDTA plasma, and 82–100% in UFH plasma.

The kit is for research use only and is stored at 4°C for 6 months. EIF2AK3 is described as a key protein involved in eukaryotic translation initiation that regulates protein synthesis in response to cellular stress, with dysregulation linked to diabetes, neurodegenerative disorders, and cancer.
