Rat Erythropoietin receptor (Epor) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of the Erythropoietin receptor (Epor, also known as EPO-R) in rat samples. The colorimetric assay recognises both natural and recombinant rat Epor, with a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.089 ng/mL. It is validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

Reported precision is 6.7% intra-assay CV and 10.8% inter-assay CV. Linearity has been demonstrated across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions, with recovery of 83–123% in serum, 93–117% in EDTA plasma and 83–122% in heparin plasma matrices. Average recovery is 108% for serum and 110% for plasma.

Erythropoietin receptor (Epor) is a single-pass type I membrane protein that mediates erythropoietin-induced erythroblast proliferation, differentiation and survival. On EPO stimulation, the receptor dimerises and triggers the JAK2/STAT5 signalling cascade, with STAT1, STAT3 and LYN tyrosine kinase also activated in some cell types. Defects in Epor have been associated with erythroleukemia and familial erythrocytosis. The kit is supplied for research use only.
