The Rat Epoxide Hydrolase 1, Microsomal (EPHX1) ELISA Kit from Assay Genie enables quantitative measurement of mEH protein levels in rat experimental samples. EPHX1 is a phase I xenobiotic-metabolizing enzyme anchored in the endoplasmic reticulum that catalyzes the trans-addition of water to epoxide substrates, converting reactive electrophiles into trans-dihydrodiols for further conjugation and excretion. Altered mEH activity is studied in hepatic toxicology, pulmonary disease models, and drug-induced organ injury research, where quantifying endogenous enzyme levels complements genotyping of the polymorphic EPHX1 gene.

Each kit contains a pre-coated microplate, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, calibrated reference standards, and sufficient reagents for 96 individual determinations. Standard dilutions are run alongside unknowns, and absorbance readings from the chromogenic substrate are converted to protein concentration using the supplied standard curve. Reconstituted standards should be aliquoted and stored at -20 °C to limit freeze-thaw degradation of the analyte. For research use only; not validated for diagnostic procedures.
