Rat EC-SOD/SOD3 ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit enables quantitative detection of extracellular superoxide dismutase (EC-SOD or SOD3) in rat samples. Validated sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method, with absorbance read at 450 nm after TMB substrate development.

The kit is stored at 2-8°C and is stable for 12 months under those conditions. EC-SOD is an important antioxidant enzyme that scavenges harmful superoxide radicals, and its dysregulation has been implicated in cancer, cardiovascular disease, and inflammatory conditions, making it a target of interest for therapeutic research.

Linearity was confirmed in serum (86-103%, 83-101%, and 87-100% at 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions), EDTA plasma (87-105%, 87-95%, 83-97%), and heparin plasma (85-97%, 84-98%, 91-100%). Recovery averaged 94% for serum (range 85-103%), 96% for EDTA plasma (range 92-103%), and 100% for heparin plasma (range 92-104%). The protocol includes primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotin-labeled detection antibody binding for 60 minutes, HRP-streptavidin binding for 30 minutes, and TMB color development in the dark for 10-20 minutes.
