Rat EAAT1/SLC1A3 ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie uses a double-antibody format to measure EAAT1 (SLC1A3) levels in rat samples. The kit has been validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid sample types. Detection is colorimetric, with absorbance read at 450 nm after TMB substrate development. The assay shows a sensitivity of 0.375 ng/mL and a working range of 0.625–40 ng/mL, with components stored at 2–8°C for up to 12 months.

The protocol involves incubation with a biotin-labeled detection antibody followed by HRP-streptavidin binding and TMB colour development. Linearity has been demonstrated at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma, and spike-and-recovery testing across these same matrices gave an average recovery of 93%.

EAAT1 (SLC1A3) is a sodium-dependent glutamate and aspartate transporter involved in terminating excitatory neurotransmission in the central nervous system, and the kit is intended for research applications in signal transduction.
