Description
The Assay Genie Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of Dopamine Receptor D1 in rat samples. Using a double-antibody sandwich format, the assay relies on a capture antibody pre-coated onto a 96-well plate, a biotin-conjugated detection antibody, and HRP-Streptavidin with TMB substrate, with absorbance read at 450 nm in a microplate reader.
The kit has a stated sensitivity of 7.5 ng/mL and a working range of 12.5-800 ng/mL. Sample types listed by the manufacturer include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, while the technical manual references serum, plasma, blood, cell culture supernatant and other related biological fluids. Reported linearity at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions ranges from 83-102% in serum, 81-99% in EDTA plasma and 80-101% in heparin plasma, and recovery averages 94% in serum, 98% in EDTA plasma and 95% in heparin plasma.
According to Assay Genie, dopamine receptor D1 is a key protein in brain dopamine signalling that influences cognitive and behavioural functions, and its dysregulation has been associated with conditions such as addiction, schizophrenia and Parkinson's disease, making it a target of interest for drug development research.
