Bone, dental, and phosphate metabolism research relies on quantitative readouts of Dentin Matrix Protein 1 (DMP1), and the Assay Genie rat-specific ELISA kit provides a calibrated immunoassay workflow for this purpose. DMP1 is an extracellular phosphoprotein secreted by osteocytes and odontoblasts that directs hydroxyapatite crystal deposition in dentin, bone, and cementum, with circulating fragments serving as informative biomarkers of skeletal turnover and osteocyte activity.

Investigators working on osteoporosis, X-linked hypophosphatemic rickets, dentinogenesis imperfecta, and age-related bone loss routinely track DMP1 levels to assess disease progression and therapeutic response. The kit also supports oncology studies where tumor-driven osteolysis and metastatic colonization of bone alter local and systemic DMP1 expression, as well as developmental biology work on odontoblast differentiation and tooth regeneration.

Each package supplies the components needed for a 96 Assays plate-based workflow, including a standard set for constructing a calibration curve across the working range. The assay has been validated for reactivity with rat DMP1 specifically and is intended for research use only. For matrices beyond those validated by the manufacturer, laboratories should perform their own dilution and recovery studies; reconstituted standards and working reagents should be kept refrigerated as indicated on the component labels to preserve activity.
