Quantitative measurement of Divalent Metal Transporter 1 (DMT1) in rat-derived samples is supported by this colorimetric ELISA kit from Assay Genie. DMT1, also designated SLC11A2, is a proton-coupled transmembrane protein that mediates cellular uptake of ferrous iron and other divalent metals, and is widely studied in iron homeostasis, anemia, neurodegeneration, and intestinal absorption research.
The assay is configured for rat reactivity and validated for use with tissue homogenates and cell lysates. Each kit provides reagents sufficient for 96 assays, supporting medium-throughput analysis of experimental cohorts in studies of dietary iron uptake, hepatic iron loading, and divalent metal transport mechanisms in rodent models.
