DGAT1 (diacylglycerol acyltransferase 1) is a microsomal membrane enzyme that catalyzes the terminal committed step in mammalian triacylglycerol biosynthesis, transferring a fatty acyl group from acyl-coenzyme A onto the sn-3 position of diacylglycerol. The Assay Genie rat DGAT1 ELISA Kit is a quantitative immunoassay designed to measure DGAT1 protein concentrations in rat-derived specimens, supporting research in hepatic lipid handling, adipocyte differentiation, and rodent metabolic disease models including diet-induced obesity and hepatic steatosis.

The kit accepts rat serum preparations, EDTA plasma, and tissue homogenate samples, giving laboratories flexibility across in vivo study designs that probe triglyceride accumulation, dietary fat handling, and pharmacologic intervention. Reagents are provided for 96 assays in a microplate, accommodating medium-throughput cohort screening. Researchers studying insulin resistance, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, or small-molecule modulators of lipid storage typically apply this assay to track DGAT1 expression changes under nutritional, genetic, or drug-treatment conditions.

Components include a pre-coated microplate, recombinant reference standards, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, wash buffer, and TMB substrate. The assay follows a sequential incubation and wash protocol read on a standard absorbance plate reader. Each well is intended for single use. For research use only; not validated for clinical diagnostic procedures.
