Rat Desmin ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA, double-antibody kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of desmin in rat samples. Compatible sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples.

Manufacturer-reported performance includes a sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL and an assay range of 0.313–20 ng/mL. Linearity at a 1:2 dilution spans 88–103% in serum, 87–101% in EDTA plasma, and 88–100% in heparin plasma. Spiked-recovery averages are 96% in serum, 97% in EDTA plasma, and 93% in heparin plasma. The colourimetric readout uses a TMB substrate with absorbance measured at 450 nm. Unopened components are stored at 2–8°C for 12 months.

The kit supports research into desmin as a biomarker of muscle physiology and pathology, including muscle development, injury, and disorders such as myopathies and muscular dystrophies.
