Rat Desmin (Des) ELISA Kit

The detection method is colorimetric ELISA, and the kit is validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Specificity has been confirmed against natural and recombinant rat Desmin.

The kit delivers a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.171ng/mL. Desmin forms a fibrous network connecting myofibrils to each other and to the plasma membrane from the periphery of the Z-line structures. The protein may act as a sarcomeric microtubule-anchoring protein, specifically associating with detyrosinated tubulin-alpha chains, contributes to transcriptional regulation of NKX2-5 in cardiac progenitor cells, and supports an optimal conformation of nebulette on heart muscle sarcomeres. The mature protein has a calculated molecular weight of 54kDa, observed at 55kDa.
