Rat Deiodinase, Iodothyronine, Type II (DIO2) ELISA Kit

This quantitative ELISA from Assay Genie enables measurement of Type II iodothyronine deiodinase (DIO2) enzyme levels in rat-derived samples. DIO2 is a selenocysteine-containing enzyme that performs outer-ring deiodination, converting thyroxine (T4) into active 3,3',5-triiodothyronine (T3) and thereby controlling local tissue thyroid hormone bioavailability in sites such as the central nervous system, brown adipose tissue, skeletal muscle, and the anterior pituitary. Investigators working on thermogenesis, energy balance, HPT axis feedback, and models of hypo- or hyperthyroidism can apply this 96-assay kit to quantify DIO2 across experimental cohorts. The assay is intended for research use only and accepts tissue homogenates along with other rat sample preparations.
