Rat Cytochrome P450 11B1 (CYP11B1) ELISA Kit

CYP11B1 encodes steroid 11-beta-hydroxylase, a mitochondrial cytochrome P450 enzyme that catalyzes the terminal step of cortisol biosynthesis by converting 11-deoxycortisol to cortisol within the zona fasciculata of the rat adrenal cortex. The Assay Genie ELISA kit supports quantitative measurement of this enzyme in rat research models of glucocorticoid regulation, hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis activity, and adrenal steroidogenesis.

Supplied as a complete microplate pack with all reagents included, the assay accepts tissue homogenates, cell lysates, and related sample matrices from rat specimens. Applications include studies of congenital adrenal hyperplasia due to 11-beta-hydroxylase deficiency, stress and corticosterone regulation, and comparative analysis against the paralog CYP11B2 (aldosterone synthase). Unopened kits should be refrigerated; reconstituted standards and detection antibody are best stored frozen in aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles.
