Rat Cystatin 3 (CST3) ELISA Kit

Cystatin C, the 13 kDa cysteine protease inhibitor encoded by the CST3 gene, is constitutively produced by all nucleated cells and freely filtered through the renal glomerulus, making circulating levels a sensitive indicator of glomerular filtration rate in preclinical research. The kit is supplied with a pre-coated microplate, biotinylated detection antibody, recombinant rat cystatin C standards, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, chromogenic substrate, stop solution, and wash buffer, sufficient to perform ninety-six determinations in a single plate run. Recommended specimens include rat serum or plasma, and urine, and the assay has been validated specifically for rat samples. All kit components are intended for in vitro research use only; reconstituted standards and antibody concentrates should be aliquoted into single-use vials and stored frozen to limit freeze-thaw cycles, while the chromogenic substrate should be protected from light during use.
