Rat CYP7A1/Cholesterol 7-alpha-monooxygenase ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit enables quantitative measurement of rat CYP7A1 (Cholesterol 7-alpha-monooxygenase) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, cell or tissue lysates, and other liquid samples. CYP7A1 is a key enzyme in cholesterol metabolism that catalyses the conversion of cholesterol into bile acids, and its dysregulation has been linked to metabolic disorders such as hypercholesterolemia and liver diseases, making it a valuable biomarker for metabolism research.

Reported linearity is 80-105% across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at 1:2 to 1:8 dilutions, and average recovery values are 94% for serum, 93% for EDTA plasma and 98% for heparin plasma. The kit should be stored at 2-8°C.

The protocol covers reagent equilibration, a 90 minute primary incubation at 37°C, a 60 minute biotin-labelled detection antibody step, a 30 minute HRP-Streptavidin binding step, TMB colour development in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and absorbance reading at 450 nm after stop solution.
