Description

This Sandwich ELISA, Double Antibody kit from Assay Genie is designed to accurately measure levels of cross-linked C-telopeptides of type III collagen (CTX-III) in rat samples, including serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. CTX-III is a biomarker that reflects the degradation of type III collagen, an important component of connective tissues, and changes in its levels have been associated with conditions such as osteoporosis, arthritis, and other bone-related disorders, making it a valuable tool for studying these diseases and evaluating potential treatments in rat models.

Recovery values are given as serum (n=5) 86-105% with an average of 94%, EDTA plasma (n=5) 90-104% with an average of 97%, and heparin plasma (n=5) 85-100% with an average of 93%. Linearity at 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions shows serum (n=5) at 85-104%, 82-95%, and 83-95%; EDTA plasma (n=5) at 87-100%, 85-96%, and 82-94%; and heparin plasma (n=5) at 87-105%, 84-91%, and 93-99%.

The protocol comprises reagent and TMB substrate equilibration to room temperature, a primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotin-labeled detection antibody incubation at 37°C for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin binding at 37°C for 30 minutes, TMB substrate color development in the dark for 10-20 minutes, and absorbance measurement at 450 nm after stop solution addition. The kit is intended for storage at 2-8°C for 12 months and is suited to research applications in bone metabolism, skeletal health, and related pathologies.
