Quantitative measurement of muscle-type creatine kinase (CKM) in rat-derived samples is supported by this immunoassay kit from Assay Genie. Cytosolic CKM is predominantly expressed in skeletal muscle, with elevated concentrations serving as a biomarker in studies of muscle injury, rhabdomyolysis, neuromuscular disease models, exercise physiology, and cardiac injury research.

The complete kit is supplied in a 96-assay plate format with pre-coated wells, lyophilized standards, detection antibody, and substrate reagents. It is validated for measurement across tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernatants, and blood-derived samples (including serum-derived and plasma-derived fractions). Each well accommodates a 100 µL sample volume during the standard protocol.

Researchers investigating muscular dystrophy models, statin-induced myopathy, drug-induced skeletal muscle toxicity, or biomarker validation in rodent disease models can integrate this assay alongside complementary readouts such as AST, ALT, and lactate dehydrogenase to profile tissue damage. The kit supports both systemic measurements from blood-derived samples and tissue-specific quantification from harvested muscle specimens.

Storage of unopened kit components refrigerated at 4 °C is recommended, with reconstituted reagents kept on ice and protected from light to preserve antibody activity. Applications include preclinical biomarker quantification, validation of muscle-targeted therapeutics, exercise intervention research, and toxicology screening programs in rat model systems.
