Rat CPT1A/Carnitine O-palmitoyltransferase 1, liver isoform ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the accurate measurement of Carnitine O-palmitoyltransferase 1, liver isoform (CPT1A) in rat samples. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples.

CPT1A is an important enzyme involved in fatty acid metabolism, specifically the transport of long-chain fatty acids into the mitochondria for beta-oxidation. Its dysregulation has been implicated in metabolic disorders such as obesity, diabetes, and fatty liver disease, making it a valuable target for research into these conditions. The kit provides a sensitivity of 9.375 pg/mL and a standard range of 15.625–1000 pg/mL, and should be stored at 2–8°C for 12 months.

The procedure begins with reagent equilibration and plate setup, followed by primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotin-labeled detection antibody binding for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin incubation for 30 minutes, and TMB substrate development in the dark for 10–20 minutes, with absorbance read at 450 nm after addition of stop solution. Reported linearity is 85–103% for serum, 87–101% for EDTA plasma, and 82–100% for heparin plasma, with average recovery of 99% in serum, 94% in EDTA plasma, and 92% in heparin plasma.
