The Rat Cox4i1 ELISA Kit from Assay Genie enables quantitative measurement of the cytochrome c oxidase subunit 4 isoform 1 protein, a nuclear-encoded subunit of mitochondrial respiratory complex IV that contributes to oxidative phosphorylation and cellular ATP production. The antibodies included in the kit have been raised against the rat Cox4i1 sequence and do not cross-react with the closely related Cox4i2 isoform. This immunoassay is intended for research use only and supports studies of mitochondrial bioenergetics, cardiac and skeletal muscle physiology, neurodegeneration, metabolic disease, ischemia-reperfusion injury, and exercise-induced mitochondrial adaptation. The kit is supplied in a 96 Assays configuration and includes a pre-coated microplate, lyophilized recombinant standards, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, wash buffer, substrate solution, and stop reagent sufficient to run a full plate.
