Anaphylatoxin C5a, the 74-amino-acid cleavage fragment generated during complement activation, drives neutrophil chemotaxis, degranulation, and inflammatory signaling in mammalian immune responses. The Assay Genie rat complement C5a ELISA kit provides a quantitative immunoassay platform for measuring this anaphylatoxin in rat specimens, supporting studies across inflammation, sepsis, ischemia-reperfusion injury, autoimmune models, and transplantation biology.

Built around a colorimetric readout, the kit accepts biofluid matrices from rat models, including serum-type and plasma-type preparations. Reagents are stored refrigerated until use, and preanalytical handling guidance preserves complement protein integrity during collection, centrifugation, and aliquoting steps. Standard curves generated from the supplied calibrators permit interpolation of analyte concentrations across the biologically relevant range.

Each kit supplies reagents sufficient for 96 assays, accommodating medium-throughput experimental cohorts. The plate-based format is compatible with standard microplate readers, and integrates naturally into workflows combining flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, cytokine profiling, and histopathology from the same animal subjects.

Marked for research use only, the kit supports translational and basic investigations of the lectin, classical, and alternative complement pathways. Its specificity for rat C5a enables species-appropriate readouts in preclinical models without cross-reactivity concerns that arise with broader-spectrum reagents.
