Quantify rat complement component 3 (C3) with this ELISA kit from Assay Genie. C3 is the central protein of the complement cascade: cleavage generates the anaphylatoxin C3a and the opsonin C3b, and circulating C3 levels are widely tracked in studies of innate immunity, autoimmune models, transplant rejection, sepsis, and vaccine responses in rodent systems.
Built on an antibody-pair immunoassay platform, the kit is configured for a microplate workflow that lets researchers process multiple specimens in parallel. The assay accepts tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernatants, and blood-derived samples including serum or plasma, giving flexibility across in vivo and in vitro experimental designs. It is supplied as a complete research use only kit, with all reagents needed for the standard curve and sample measurement.
Typical applications include profiling complement activation in disease models, evaluating pharmacologic interventions on the complement system, and screening biologic samples from rat pharmacology and toxicology studies. Because C3 is an acute-phase reactant, the kit is also useful for monitoring systemic inflammatory responses in rodent models of infection, ischemia-reperfusion injury, and glomerulonephritis.
