Rat Complement C5/C5 ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative detection of complement C5 in rat samples, supporting research into the complement system, immune defence, inflammation, and tissue repair. It is intended for use with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, with reactivity confirmed for rat.

The kit has a reported sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL and a working range of 0.313–20 ng/mL. Storage is at 2–8°C for 12 months. The assay procedure involves equilibrating reagents and TMB substrate to room temperature, primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotinylated detection antibody incubation at 37°C for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin binding at 37°C for 30 minutes, TMB colour development in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and absorbance reading at 450 nm after stop solution addition.

Reported linearity at 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions is 87–93%, 81–100%, 92–102% for serum (n=5); 82–98%, 82–98%, 85–94% for EDTA plasma (n=5); and 85–100%, 87–101%, 85–101% for heparin plasma (n=5). Spike-and-recovery performance is 93–100% (average 96%) in serum (n=5), 85–100% (average 96%) in EDTA plasma (n=5), and 86–99% (average 97%) in heparin plasma (n=5).
