Rat Collagen Type IX Alpha 1/COL9A1 ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of Collagen Type IX Alpha 1 (COL9A1) in rat samples. The assay uses a double-antibody sandwich format with colorimetric detection, and is validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples.

The kit reports a sensitivity of 0.938 ng/mL and a working range of 1.563-100 ng/mL. Validated recovery in serum (n=5) averaged 90% (range 86-95%), in EDTA plasma (n=5) averaged 95% (range 85-103%), and in heparin plasma (n=5) averaged 98% (range 89-104%). Linearity was assessed at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma matrices. Reagents are stored at 2-8°C for 12 months.

COL9A1 is a critical component of collagen type IX and contributes to the structure and function of cartilage. Abnormalities in COL9A1 expression have been linked to musculoskeletal disorders including osteoarthritis and intervertebral disc degeneration. The kit is suited to research in cartilage development, degenerative joint disease and tissue engineering.
